Jonah Hill is a moderately funny, thin nosed fat guy, not unlike co-host Ben. So why is Jonah Hill famous and Ben isn’t? Well perhaps it’s because Jonah can really act, as we see in this week’s 1 year anniversary episode! Jonah Hill was getting harassed by the paparazzi, so to get them to back off he used a naughty word frowned upon by the more sensitive in the gay community. However, he was clearly using it in a general pejorative way, and not as an observation that the photographer simply enjoys the taste of penis. Context means everything, and while it’s not exactly a nice word, it’s commonly used as an alternative for “jerk” and not an actual homophobic slur. However, Jonah Hill went on “The Tonight Show” with an also disgustingly humble Jimmy Fallon, in order to apologize to the world for being human and getting angry. The absurdity of how apologetic he gets will actually make you ill; he begs people to use him as an example of “what not to do.” Which I assume means “go on a comedy show to do something serious.”
However, the first item on our agenda for this 1 year anniversary episode (yes, this awful show has now been around for a year. We’re as surprised as you are) is to review a simply marvelous video of an awful, white trash woman who is very angry at a black man, and does not hold back from letting her racist thoughts be known. The first clue that there was trouble is probably when it becomes apparent that it’s the parking lot of a “Dollar General” store, but interestingly enough this does not take place in the South. Normally these types of things happen below the Mason-Dixon line, but this actually happened in the state of New York, which is fairly liberal as states go. It would seem that perhaps the Republican National Committee was wrong when they claimed that racism ended with Rosa Parks.
Last but certainly not least is Josh’s present to the show for their year anniversary: a retrospective clip of all of our contributions to rape culture over the last year. It appears we went every week since the podcast started without ever missing at least one conversation per episode about rape or contributing to rape culture. Truly despicable! Trigger Warning!
